Kearstyn and Casey selected a beautiful private estate for their big day hidden on the outskirts of Bakersfield, California. If you are a fan of palm trees and heart-shaped lakes, you’ll love this one!
From the Bride: I loved our wedding because it was the farthest thing from perfect, but it was the perfect day for us. As soon as I turned and was able to see Casey at the end of that aisle, it was like everything and everyone else disappeared. My favorite memory of that day was exchanging our vows. The microphone system wasn’t working properly, which caused a delay and Casey ended up having to reread his vows. He was embarrassed and wanted to be done with these vows, especially since this was the part he had been dreading for weeks. But as he was reading them, I just remember listening to every word he had wrote and laughing of course, because he had to throw some jokes in and I remember thinking, I’m so lucky I get to spend the rest of my life with him because he’s going to always make me laugh.
The rest of the ceremony went well, but we did bake in the sun the entire time so we were really excited to kiss and be on our way and then, another flop…my veil fell off halfway down the aisle. I remember telling our videographer, “well everything that could have gone wrong, did” but I was still so happy! We had done the dang thing! I was looking forward to getting through pictures, being able to hold our son again, and visit with all of our family and friends.
The rest of the evening really was magical. We had our closest family and friends share meaningful speeches, we danced to the most special songs, and we were able to have everyone we loved in one place together. What could go wrong? Well, remember those drinks I had had prior to the ceremony. They were catching up to me and guess who got so busy they forgot to eat? You guessed it, me. The bride. I was hammered and dancing with my eyes closed. Did I have fun? You betcha! Was I embarrassed the next day? Oh yeah.
But I still would not change anything about our special day. Like I said, this wedding may not be many people’s “cup of tea” and I’m sure some of you are cringing while reading this, but it was a memorable day (slightly memorable in my case) and I loved every second of it!
